Traffic Management Centres

Sound and effective traffic management leads to the smooth and safe operation of the motorway.

The entire motorway is coordinated from the fully equipped Traffic Management Centre (TMC), which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is a special Tunnel Management Centre operating for tunnels.

At these Centres, scientific experts – traffic engineers and specialised personnel use cutting edge equipment to manage emergency calls, collect and study critical information, analyse traffic data in combination with the given conditions (e.g. weather conditions), and intervene in real-time on the motorway via the 24-hour road safety patrols. Furthermore, when required, they provide information to all emergency services.
