ENERGY AWARDS – 2 WINNER Awards
Kentriki Odos received the winner top award in the Transportation Infrastructure category for the overall number of green actions and activities that it has planned and implemented. We would like to indicatively mention the Organic Waste Recycling System, with the pilot installation of the first composters for recycling the organic waste produced from the operation of the Motorist Service Stations, with Electromobility, as well as with the 100% green vans, as well as the integrated plan to replace the vehicle fleet with 100% electric and hybrid vehicles, and equipping all our facilities with 18 electric vehicle chargers.
GREEN AWARDS – Bronze Award
Kentriki Odos won the Bronze Award in the ‘Green Holistic Approach’ category for the overall actions implemented to protect the environment.
From day one of its operation, Kentriki Odos made protecting the environment a main strategic goal, as well as one of the basic pillars on which its individual Sustainable Development actions are developed. In that context and driven by innovation and new technologies, it is planning and implementing a series of actions that prove in practice that it is the greenest motorway in Greece.
IOT AWARDS – Gold Award
Kentriki Odos won the Gold Award in the ‘Transportation/Motorways’ category for the use of IoT technologies on the motorways it operates, maintains, and manages. This award concerns two actions that prove in practice that we are planning and implementing investments driven by innovation, and concerned:
- The web cam network at selected points of the motorway, where, through the use of AI, dangerous moves are automatically detected and the Control Centre is immediately contacted to ensure the fastest possible intervention.
- The Automatic Irrigation System, that covers a network of almost 200 kilometres and controls pumping stations, and the central motorway irrigation points, covering both the increased needs for watering plants, and saving in water resources and energy consumption”.
MOBILITY AWARDS 2023– «Motorway of the year», 2 Gold &, 1 Silver
Την κορυφαία διάκριση “Motorway of the year” και τέσσερις ακόμα σημαντικές διακρίσεις, απέσπασε η Κεντρική Οδός στα Mobility Awards 2023, ενός θεσμού της που αναδεικνύει και επιβραβεύει τις καινοτόμες πρακτικές, τεχνολογίες και εφαρμογές επιχειρήσεων του ευρύτερου κλάδου της κινητικότητας & αυτοκίνησης, με την ακαδημαϊκή υποστήριξη του Εργαστηρίου Κυκλοφοριακής Τεχνικής της Σχολής Πολιτικών Μηχανικών του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου και την επιστημονική υποστήριξη του Συλλόγου Ελλήνων Συγκοινωνιολόγων. Ειδικότερα, η Νέα Οδός απέσπασε τις ακόλουθες διακρίσεις:
- Κορυφαία διάκριση Motorway of the year για το σύνολο των καινοτόμων δράσεων που έχει υλοποιήσει
- Χρυσό βραβείο στην κατηγορία Motorways Customer Service για τα microsites των Διαδρομών καθώς και για την ηλεκτρονική κάρτα ΑΜΕΑ.
- Χρυσό βραβείο στην κατηγορία Motorways Environmental Management για το σύνολο των πράσινων δράσεων που στόχο έχουν την προστασία και ανάδειξη του περιβάλλοντος αλλά και την αρμονική ένταξη των αυτοκινητοδρόμων σε αυτό.
- Ασημένιο βραβείο στην κατηγορία Green Fleet για την αντικατάσταση του στόλου οχημάτων με ηλεκτρικά/ υβριδικά οχήματα. Με σύνθημα «Go Green», και με στόχο τη δραστική μείωση των άμεσων εκπομπών αέριων ρύπων από τον στόλο των εταιρικών οχημάτων, η εταιρία έχει θέσει σε πλήρη εξέλιξη πλάνο σταδιακής αντικατάστασης του στόλου οχημάτων με υβριδικά και ηλεκτρικά.
HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARDS 2023-WINNER & Bronze Award
A winner distinction in the Transportation Infrastructure category for all the actions and activities planned and implemented relating to employee Health and Safety. Indicatively, we would like to mention that i) we reorganised and expanded our random spot checks on Health & Safety issues ii) we carried out an overall replacement of the toll booths at Afidnes & added metal shielding to the toll booths at Klokova, increasing safety levels, while significantly improving working conditions for our people iii) With the aim of enhancing the mental health and well-being of our people, we moved forward with a partnership with Hellas EAP, creating and providing a specialised counselling programme for all employees and their dependants.
Bronze award in the Behavioural Risk Initiative category regarding our partnership with Hellas EAP, which resulting to the creation of a specialised counselling programme for all employees and their dependants. Often, the challenges we face due to the object of our works, combined with the speed and exactness with which we must respond, significantly increase the pressure an employee may feel during their shift. Indicatively, we should mention that in 2021 alone we were called upon to handle almost 40,000 incidents that fall within different categories, with an average response time of 8 minutes for Kentriki Odos.
